MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY REGULATIONS

1.  Grave-liners (rough boxes) are required and must be constructed of concrete or metal and installed by the company with the exception of cremations.

2. All excavations for all interments must be made by cemetery personnel and     arranged.

3. Foundations for all monuments, headstones and veteran plaques will be installed by cemetery personnel.

4. Monuments and headstones must be installed by the monument company.

5. Burial permits must be submitted to the Cemetery Superintendent before or at the time of interments before the interments can take place.

6. Corner stones are required for grave lots.

7. Veteran markers will be installed on a foundation by cemetery personnel unless other arrangements have been made with the Cemetery Superintendent at no cost to the family.

8. Contact the Cemetery Superintendent for grave lot purchases and/or changes.

9. Basic grave lots are 5’ X 10’.

10. Cremation lots in the old Cremation section are 4’ X 4’;  Cremation lots in the new Cremation section are 3’ X 3’.

11. Section 9 – lots 135 through 142 are set aside for indigent burials.

12. Full payment for grave lots must be made at the time of purchase.

13. Weekend and holiday burials will be charged additional fees over and above the basic burial charge.  See Cemetery Superintendent for price list.

14. Grave lot deeds will be issued by the Town Clerk and a copy of the Rules and regulations included with the deed.

15. Vandalism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY RULES

1. The Cemetery Superintendent reserves the right to remove any type of decoration or planting deemed dangerous, withered, unsightly or intrusive upon neighboring lots.

2. All plants must be in containers and confined to an area not more than 12 inches from the front or side of a monument.

3. Use of any type of glass container is prohibited and will be removed immediately.

4. Landscaping materials of any kind (i.e. stones, crushed stones, shells, wood chips, mulch, bricks, etc.) are not permitted to be placed on graves or around plants as they are safety hazards.

5. The planting of trees, shrubs, bushes, perennials and annuals is prohibited.

6. Limit – 3 decorations per grave and confined to an area not more than 12 inches from the front or sides of a monument.

7. Lot owners are not permitted to remove permanently planted trees.

8. Lot owners are not permitted to plant any kind of hedge or erect any other kind of enclosure on their lots, including seats or benches.

9. All decorations from previous year must be removed by April 1.

10. The use of any type of recreational vehicle (i.e. snowmobiles, ATV’s sleds, etc.) within the cemetery is prohibited.

11. The cemetery is closed between sundown and sunrise.  Trespassers during these hours will be prosecuted.

12. No hunting is allowed within or from the cemetery.

13. Refer any suggestions, complaints or questions to the Cemetery Superintendent.
